Nostalgic Tiong Bahru

Developed in the 1920s as the first public housing estate and now a conservation status cluster, this is where as if time stood still in Singapore.  Walking through the old-styled buildings adorned with vivid murals evokes a sense of nostalgia of decades passed.  The blend of modern art deco businesses, cafes, restaurants, traditional shops and a busy local market creates a unique experience for any visitor.  Not forgetting the "village" like feel of the residential area.

This series of work looks to celebrate the vibrancy, uniqueness, beauty, nostalgic yet modern and spirited lifestyle of this very special place right at the fringe of Singapore's city center.
